Who we are

Spaghetti Tree Productions is an independent film and animation company. Our second feature, Bloodlines, is a Native-led supernatural folk horror now in pre-production.

Our story

Spaghetti Tree Productions was founded by Tanem Davidson, a filmmaker and visual effects artist with 24 years of experience in VFX and motion graphics. Our first feature, the documentary New Brow: Contemporary Underground Art (2009), screened worldwide, including at San Diego Comic-Con, and won the Silver Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival.

From the start, we’ve been drawn to voices that live outside the mainstream and to the stories the culture overlooks. With Bloodlines, our second feature, that search comes home. Rooted in Tanem’s own Wailaki/Pomo family history, it uses horror to bring Indigenous trauma into the light.

What we make

Feature films. Our feature work began with New Brow: Contemporary Underground Art (2009), an award-winning documentary featuring Shepard Fairey, Mark Ryden and Ron English that played 17 film festivals in six countries. Before that, Tanem worked on other people’s features, doing visual effects for The Best Bar in America and storyboards for the Sundance award winners Dopamine and Cherish. Our next feature, Bloodlines, is a Native-led supernatural folk horror filming in 2027.

Short films. Our short films are personal and made by hand, and they’re where we try new ideas. Midnight (2021) was an official selection at six festivals, Sister of the Forest (2022) was an official selection in 2024, and The Boy Who Rode the Wind premiered in September 2026.

Client work. We bring 24 years of visual effects, 3D animation and motion graphics to commercial work, taking each project from style frames and storyboards through final animation. We’ve created video and animated content for brands like Meta, Microsoft, Starbucks, Expedia and AWS, and Tanem’s commercials for Tomboy X and Microsoft have won Telly Awards.
